Davati Holy Virgin Church is located on a 1200-meter tall mountaintop near the village of Davati (within 25km from Dusheti). It dates back to the middle ages. The repairs and renovations that started in the 1980s were interrupted in 1990 and then resumed in 2005.  This project is still under way.

During the archeological excavations conducted in 1980, a stela was found in the church wall bearing an inscription that is regarded as one of the ancient examples of the Georgian alphabet.

Davati Holy Virgin Church
The Ananuri architectural complex represents one of best architectural monuments of relatively recent period of Georgia. It combines pagan, military and civil facilities. According to the inscription of the stela found in the southern wall of the main church, the construction work was completed in 1689 by Bardzim Msajultukhutsesi.  All of the four facades of the church are decorated with magnificent examples of Georgian ornaments. The conservation project conducted in 2004 revealed some very interesting works of art inside the church.

In the post medieval period Ananuri occupied a strategic location within the Aragvi Principality, as it was located at the junction of two routes, one from the north (via the Tergi and Aragvi Valleys) and the other from Kartli.

Shatili

Shatili is a unique complex of fortresses and fortified dwellings. The village nowadays represents one of the many attractive destinations for tourists. It is located in Khevsureti. The village started to become inhabited late in the mediaeval period. Shatili is unique from architectural, strategic and historical prospective.

 The Khada Valley

The magnificent Khada Valley stretches along the river Khada (one of tributaries of the Tetri Aragvi River) from Kvesheti Village and rises up to the summits of the main Caucasus Mountains.
The natural setting is diverse where rocks blend harmoniously with spacious fields. Serpentine roads gradually turn into hollows.  The Khada Valley is surrounded with high mountains. The most impressive feature of all is the uneven ridge blocking the passage to the valley from the north. The alpine fields widely span on the slopes of the mountain surrounding the valley.
Both embankments of the Khada  river, the hills and the fields are occupied by picturesque small villages with traditional local shale flat-roofed houses. The villages are sparsely populated. The settlements blend harmoniously with the natural and peaceful setting of the valley.

The Weeping Cave
