  On September 5-6, “Georgian poetry night” was conducted in Vazha-Pshavela’s village Chargali. The event was conducted to celebrate poets’ 148 anniversary. Well-known Georgian poets, theatre and musical groups were participated in this event.
  The organizer and initiator of this event were Vazha-Pshavela museum and local Administration of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region.  The “Georgian poetry night” was conducted in the museum’s adjacent territory. The special camp was organized for the participants of this event and was devoted to the Georgian poetry. Apart from this, the horse race was conducted with the participation of media and government representatives. The winners of the horse race were awarded with memorable prizes. Presents were delevired also to those people, who had the best knowledge of Vazha–Pshavela’s poetry. 
  The Georgia poetry Nighr” was leaded by the well-known Georgian poet Rati Amaghlobeli and actor Tsisana Kotilaidze.
The evening, which was devoted to Vazha-Pshavela has started in 5 September in Chargali and lasted the whole night.

  On September 12, the public holiday “Kazbegoba” has been conducted in Stepantsminda settlement. The event was devoted to the outstanding Georgian writer Aleksandre Kazbegi and popularization of Khevi’s traditions. The event was conducted by the initiative of Kazbegi Gamgeoba Municipality and state representative - Governor of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. The Georgian Catholicon Patriarch Ilia II blessed the people who attended the event and then he sanctify the grave of Aleksandre Kazbegi. 

  The event started at 12:00 in Stepantsminda settlement and the participants of this event was folklore ensembles of Mtskheta, Dusheti, Kazbegi, Tianeti , Akhalgori, and special invited singers. 
  Apart from this, sport events were also conducted, such as wrestling and horse racing.
  The representatives of government and parliament and public men were invited to attend public holiday “Kazbegoba”.   
  The whole day lasted the event and all tourists had an opportunity to enjoy and see this beautiful part of Georgia.

  On September 19-20, public holiday “Shatiloba” was conducted. The event was organized by the joint initiative of Dusheti municipality, Mtskheta-Mtianeti Administration and Department of Georgian Tourism and Resorts.

  The concert was leaded by the Poet Rati Amaglobeli. The event was supported by the Tbilisi City Administration, Department of Georgian Tourism and Resorts, brewery “Natakhtari” and TV Company “Channel 1”.

  According to the program food supplies/ restaurants were organized on the whole territory of “Shatili”. There were arranged trade exhibition of traditional superiors. 
Khevsurian women were showing guests the working process of traditional handwork.
The guests could taste national foods “Khavitsi” and “Khinkali”. 

  There was also a demonstration of traditional Khevsurian wedding. Later was conducted a gala performance where participated Georgian pop singers and folklore ensembles. On September 20, early in the morning, the monks offered up the prayer.

   The population of Kazbegi rayon along with different living conditions had also a danger of cattle destruction. The danger was caused by the big snow and hard frost in this rayon. 
   According to this, by the initiative of Mtkheta-Mtianeti Administration loaded autocade of hey was sent to Stepantsminda. The stock of hey will be enough for cattle till the cattle will pass on to winter pastures.
In the near future such types of goods will be again sent to Kazbegi direction.

On September the 23rd was conducted championship of wrestling between regions of Georgia at the new built arena in Tserovani. In this championship were taking place representatives from seven region. except of this there was also special tour in absolute weigh.
First place won team of Mtskheta-  Mtianeti municipality, second place received team of Tbilisi municipality and third place gained Shida Qartli municipality. In absolute weigh first place won Alexsi davitashvili (Kakheti), second place Ioseb karbelashvili(Shida Qartli)and third place Nikoloz Gviniashvili  (Shida Qartli).
    the measure of wrestling was organized by initiative of Georgian Wrestling federation and Mtskheta –Mtianeti Administration.

   On October 2, the president of Georgia Mr. Mikheil Saakashvili visited Mskheta. He visited the historical district of Mtkheta and saw rehabilitations works there. The president also met with local population. 
   The rehabilitation works of historical parts of Mtkheta consists of some stages, which includes the rehabilitation works of facade, yards, and communications.   
  At this time the rehabilitation works of “Svetitskhoveli” adjacent territory have been finished. Facade and interior of this territory was completely changed, which is very good for future development of tourism and infrastructure development.
  The finances for rehabilitation of historical part of  Mtskheta were allotted by the reserve fund of president and local budget. 
The rehabilitation works of Mtskheta city will be finished in 2-3 years.

  On October 3, by the initiative of Mtskheta-Mtianeti administration and Gamgeoba of Dusheti municipality was held “Aragveloba” – “carpet holiday” in Mskheta.  

 The celebration started at 12:00 and it was overloaded with various events. 

 In the centre of Dusheti was arranged ethnographic ensembles performances, in the adjacent territory of Vazha-Pahsavela monument were exhibited the displays from museums and archeological basis, there were trade exhibition of carpets, tapestries, felts and souvenirs. In the house of culture pupils presented performance, sports arrangements were also conducted. There were also opening of those objects, which restoration works have been completed in Dusheti now. 

  The invited guests were: the President of Georgia Mr. Mikheil Saakashvili, the representatives of government and parliament, writers and public men.

  During the visit in Dusheti the president Mikheil Saakashvili, was attended the opening of 14 km. length road in village “Mchadijvari”. Georgian Catholicon Patriarch Ilia II also attended Public Holiday “Aragveloba”.  The Patriarch conducted prayer service in the church named after Saint Nikoloz. 

  The event was finished at 17:00 by the gala-performance.

  On October 14, religious holiday “Svetisckhovloba” and public holiday “Mtskhetoba was traditionally conducted. 
By the initiative of Mtskheta-Mtianeti administration and local self-government were conducted various events in Mtskheta. In “Svetisckhoveli” cathedral was conducted ceremonial prayer. On the central road of Mtskheta was displayed ceramics, felt, library books and paintings.
  At the same time Cultural House of Mtkheta municipality, clubs and schools presented various performances in the Mtskheta “Teatroni” territory. Creative teams from Mtskheta-Mtianeti region (Dusheti, Tianeti, Kazbegi) also presented concerts and various performances. 

  The local population welcomed guests with Georgian and European food. 
There were also various performances: circus performance, mask theatre performance, pantomime performance, performance of personages of fairy tale heroes. There were also sports performances: georgian wrestling, karate, boxing, volleyball, chess, football, rugby, backgammon, georgian traditional fighting sport “Khridoli” and others. There worked attractions for kids.
The event was finished by the gala-performance where Georgian folklore and pop singers participated.

 Young Georgian children now have comfortable sports facility equipped with modern sports inventory

  On November 4, U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Mr. John Bass, attended the opening of renewed sports ground in Saguramo founding hospital of orphans and care-devoid Children. Counterpart International was implemented this project through the financial support of State Department Coordinator for U.S. Assistance to Europe and Eurasia. The representatives of “Physicians With Heart" delivered different types of aids to 41 inmates of a Children's Home: blanket, linen hygiene and school kits, toys, vitamins and sports shoes. The representatives of the US Embassy, organization “Physicians With Heart”, organizations which are supported by the US department of state, the governor of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, local NGOs and representatives of “Counterpart International were attended this event. 

  The Counterpart International completely reconstructed the sports ground including locker rooms and small storage room for sports inventory. Electric lines and collecting system have been replaced. The new floor was laid; old doors and windows were replaced; ceilings and walls repaired and painted. The total project cost was $17,000.

  172 anniversary celebration was conducted on November the 8th in Saguramo museum. The Georgian writers and public representatives were attended to the event. Ceremonial public prayer was conducted in the monastery named after Ilia the truth. Afterwards the guests once again reminded the live and creative work of the outstanding creator. At this day people were awarded in different fields of culture, in which the most respectable reward was the “Medal of Ilia”. The main reward was given to famous Georgian film director Robert Sturua, this year. This kind of event has been conducted several years in Saguramo and hope in future it will have traditional face.

    Kazbegi rayon is absolutely isolated from the rest of Georgia because of the big snow. Thousands villages of the rayon became isolated from the environment. The highway in Gudauri-Kobi part is paralyzed. The cleaning works of the road have already started. The special machines are mobilized on spot. Because of the threat of avalanche the cleanings works can not be done until now. The gas and electricity was not cut off to the Kazbegi rayon because of the big snow.

    In January the 20th, the initiative group with the support of Kazbegi rayon authorities, presented the eveining of the memory, which was dedicated to Aleksandre Kazbegi. The event was held in the spiritual and intellectual development youth centre, which is based on Saint Sameba temple. 
    The evening was dedicated to the 162 anniversary from the birth of Aleksandre Kazbegi. In this event were taking part scientist-researchers: Valerian Itonishvili, Rostom Chkheidze, Beka Khangoshvili, Nana Valishvili, Amiran Arabuli, Lado Minashvili, Mikheil Kurdiani, Erekle Saghliani, Naira Pibieva; 
    Ensembles: “Jvaruli”, “Didevai”, Gogochurebi”, “Shemoqmedi”, Pic-Vercxli”;
    Singers: Teona Kumsiashvili, Gela Daiauri, Siltan Borchashvili;
    Poets: Tengo Avsajanishvili, Nino Marsagishvili, Lia Bedoshvili.
At the evening was also presented the miniatures of the icon-painter Liza Chqareuli, which was dedicated to the creative works of Aleksandre Kazbegi.
    The folklore ensembles “Jvaruli”, Didebai”, “Gogochurebi” and “Shemoqmedi” also participated in this event.
    The Georgian Catholicos patriarchy Ilia the Second was attended this evening and he blessed the people, who were attending the evening.
