Lasha Gotsiridze the deputy of Georgia regional development and infrastructure minister and Konstantin Mgeladze, Executive Director of Municipality Development Fund arrived in Mtkheta. Together with the president representative in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, Tsezar Chocheli and local municipality chairperson they discussed about the problems of current projects and 2010 planed projects.
In 2010, Georgia Municipality Development Fund is implementing nine important projects, in all municipalities of Mtkheta-Mtianeti region and the total budget is 35 Million GL.
The above mentioned projects are financed by the Georgian government, Municipal Development Fund, Asia Development Bank (ADB) and World Bank.

By the initiative of Dusheti municipality, with the support of Mtskheta-Mtianeti Administration was conducted the regional folk concert in Dusheti cultural house. In this event were participated people who wanted to present their art. The events aim was to make popular Georgian Folklore and present new ones.
To the event attended the representatives of the Georgian State folklore Centre. They were taking part in the working of jury. They found out the best participants, who will participate in future in the Vakhushti Kotetishvili poetry event. The event will take part in April 2010.
Eter Tataraidze opened the regional folk concert in Dusheti. The winner participants were awarded with prizes. The folk art exhibition was conducted at the same time in Dusheti culture house.

12th International Tourism Exhibition was organized in Tbilisi, on 23-25 of April, 2010 by ExpoGeorgia Exhibition Centre, Departament of Tourism and Resorts and Tbilisi City Hall. There were till 80 participants: Tourist companies, protected areas, manufactures of georgian traditional hand-made things, georgian universities and e.t.c.
Mtskheta Tourism Information Centre with Tianeti, Dusheti, Mtskheta and Kazbegi municipalities, presented Region’ tourist infrastructure: hotels, guest-houses, tourist routes, tourist sitethings, hand-made things, georgian folk-lore and e.t.c. Presented information was interesting for visitors.
Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region received certificate for participation.

Ex-leaders of The U.S.A visited Tserovani settlement on September 6 , 2010. They met the local government and spoke about the problems and the activities conducted after the August war .They visited all the sites, build by the supporting of different donor organizations-school, kinder-garden, bakery and others. Apart from that Ex-Leaders hold a meeting with the local people to share their problems.

On September 7, 2010 the Head of Municipality Board and the representatives of Mtskheta-Mtianeti Governor Administration provided the population with firewood, those who were at loss by natural calamity.
Ceaseless rains damaged the village in Spring of the current year. Some of the houses were destroyed , quite amount of poultry were destructed.
The members of the local Municipal Board renewed cleaning activities on the damaged area and had a meeting with the local population to share their problems.

September 12 is the 103- th anniversary of assassination of the greatest Georgian public character Ilia Chavchavadze .Ceremony, dedicated to this fact was held on the initiative of the Museum administration and by the support of Mtskheta –Mtianeti Governor Administration. The one began with the special praying to his soul, at the monument to the poet. Later all the visitors moved to Saguramo, where they had possibility to express their gratitude for everything bequeathed to us.
Additionally , two Georgian writers Zviad Kvaratskhelia and Iona Meunargia made a presentation of their books.
Some of the Georgian businessmen , giving support to the museum were given the name of ,, Honorable Friends of the Museum ,,.
The ceremony was accompanied by the Georgian ensembles ,,Kartuli Khmebi,, and ,,Erisioni,,.
The number of visitors was too great…
103 anniversary of the assassination of Ilia Chavchavadze

Celebration “Kazbegoba” was held in Stapantsminda on the 9-th of October on the initiative of Kazbegi Municipality and Kazbegi Board. The event was supported by the Mtskheta –Mtianeti Governor. The aim of the day was the restoration of the local traditions and memorizing the greatest Georgian writer Alexander Kazbegi. Georgian folk ensembles from Kazbegi, Dusheti, Tianeti, Mtskheta and Akhalgori participated in the event.
Georgian writers and poets represented their works, while a fair of the Georgian art crafts was held in the streets and sporting events were conducted outdoor. Horse racing was one of the most amazing event on that day.
The event was supported by the Public TV Channel, Radio- Palitra and The Georgian National Agency of Tourism.
The celebration was visited by the greatest number of visitors, including foreigners. The event continued till late at night.

The Greatest event-Svetitskhovloba was celebrated on the 14-th of October.Catholicos-Patriarch-Ilia the 2-nd conducted public prayer dedicated to this very day.
Official delegations from different countries , including The representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church visited Georgia.
Great amount of special events were performed in the streets of the ancient capital. Specimens of Georgian folk craft –ceramic, graphic ,silver, enamel, wool, pictures and books from the oldest library were represented.
Local ensembles performed specimens of Georgian Folk dancing and singing. Exhibitions ,dedicated to the Autumn season were held on the initiative of Public Schools of Mtskheta –Mtianeti Region( Dusheti,Tianeti,Kazbegi). Competitions in different kind of sport accompanied the day. Students competed each other in Georgian Wrestling, Hand ball, Karate, Boxing, Mini Football, . . .
Svetitskhoveli cathedral-1700 Anniversary from the establishing and 1000 from the reinstatement

Presentation, dedicated to Mtskheta tourist guides training was held on September 9,2010 at the cathedral Svetitskhoveli. Training course was implemented by the tourist development center ,,NEWKAZ,, . The aim of the project was preparing local professional guides. Trainings were conducted in English.
Project was supported by the Georgian Department of Tourism and Resort and the Mtskheta Municipality Board. The presentation was attended by the chairman of The Georgian Department of Tourism and Resort- Maya Sidamonidze, Director of The Tourism Development Center-Ketevan Meladze, Director of Guides Association-Giorgi Darcimelia.
Training of guides in English is especially important for development of the local area. As the number of tourists has greatly increased lately , professional guides having quite a good knowledge of English will be a good device for their attraction.

Hotel ”Ambassador” hosted the presentation of Mutso’s restoration –rehabilitation on the 26-th of November.
Mutso is a castle built on the rocky mountain. It is needed to be done urgent activities for it’s preservation. The problem arose on the local level and different organizations unified about the issue.
Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Administration, Tourism Department, and The Monument Defense Department, Building Company “Arsi” presented their opinion about the topic. The presentation was attended by the representatives of the donor organizations. The same kind of meetings are planned for the near future to make proper decisions for solving the problem urgently

In November 2010, The British humanitarian NGE “HALO Trust” completed mineclearance of the former military base at Mtskheta. Since October 2009, HALO’s mechanical clearance teams have been working on the site clearing landmines and other explosive of war.
The mines at Mtskheta were laid in early 1990’s to defend the military engineering stores base that existed there at that time. Whilst some mineclearance was condcted following the closure of the base in 1993, mines remained and there have been several . . .

On the 13-th of January,representatives of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Governor’s administration and the leaders of the Mtskheta Municipality visited the Rehabilitation Center located in the village Dzegvi at the Monastery(convent) after ST.George of Mtatsminda. They provided the center with all kinds of productions, needed. Currently, there are 60 dwellers in the center,among them 16 are kids. Most part of older patients are disable and have some psychological problems. The center was set up in 1995, but the rehabilitation center . . .
Representatives of Mtskheta-Mtianeti Governor’s Administration congratulated the New Year celebration on behalf of the Governor to the dwellers of Dzegvi rehabilitation center.
