New Year celebration concert was held in Mtskheta on December 31,on the initiative of the Mtskheta Municipality Council. Representatives of the Georgian show business - Rusa Morchiladze, Eter Kakulia, Gvanca Zaqareishvili, group -“Rondo”,Maia Karkarashvili,Sopo Gelovani and Tatia Giorgobiani participated in the concert. The event began at 10 p.m. on the central square of the down town and lasted up to New Year.
The same kind of ceremonies were conducted on January 3,4,5. Participants of the concert were local art groups . . .

On January 10 the president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili opened a brand new hospital in Mtskheta. The center was set up in terms of Hospital Sector Development.
The center is built by the insurance company “GPI” and accommodates 25 persons. About 100 skillful physicians are employed there.
Four million was invested in the construction of the building. Consumers are given various number of services-ambulatory, stationary and therapy related.
On the very day the president viewed the brand new project of Mtskheta Infrastructural Development. In terms of the said plan it is scheduled to set up a single district. The one will include a range of offices-Regional Administration, Mtskheta Archaeological Museum, Police Station and Saqpatenti building. In terms of the project it is also scheduled to set up a public square, including different kind of workshops, where the visitors will have an opportunity not only purchase the crafts but also witness the elaboration process.
The cultivation process of the new district is underway and it will be over by Autumn.
