The conference was held on the initiative of The Mtskheta-Mtianeti Administration and The Agency of the Protected Areas with the attendance of the representative of the German Bank of Reconstruction Loans (KFW).

An important meeting within the framework of War Free World Heritage Listed Cities project was hosted by the Municipality of Mtskheta on March the 25th, at the Mtskheta Palace Hotel. Key Georgian authorities as well as experts on culture heritage gathered to discuss main steps forward for a better protection of cultural heritage from armed conflicts. This project funded by the European Union through the worldwide programme CIUDAD.
The War Free World Heritage Listed Cities project aims at establishing good practices for urban and site . . .

Mtskheta-Mtianeti region hosted several events in honor of the people ,killed on April 9.1989:
One of them was at the Shota Rustaveli Library, where the members of Mtskheta municipality culture and sport bodies took part coupled with the schoolchildren. The audience gave a speech, recited pieces of poetry and performed many other interesting plays.They were also shown video recording of the very day, that was followed political discussions
On that period. The same kind of meeting was also held in Tianeti culture center, where schoolchildren performed . . .

Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development gave 40 new Japanese “Toyota” cars and water testing equipment (of German origin)to the United Water Supply Company.
The ceremony of providing cars was held in Mtskheta ,as construction of the new water company is planned within 300 hundred meters from the very place. The new organization will prevent water (the Aragvi river) pollution from biological waste and will be the guarantee of ecologically pure environment for Mtskheta residents . . .
Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development gave the new cars and water testing equipment to the United Water Supply Company
Tourism information center was opened in the renewed part of ancient Mtskheta on the initiative of the National Tourism Agency. The center was officially opened by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Chairperson of The National Tourism Agency and Representative-Governor in Mtskheta –Mtianeti Region-Tsezar Chocheli.
Tourists will receive information about directions, accommodation and catering. They will also be offered a guide service. Tourists will have access to a free internet cafe.
Around 2010 Mtskheta was visited by 120.000 visitors .Among them-78% arrived to see sightseengs,3% was organized by tour operation agencies, mostly tourists were from Israel ,Germany,
France,,America,Russia,Japan, England and the Ukraine.
Mtskheta is the ancient capital of Georgia, rich in historical ,religious ,architectural and archaeological monuments. Picturesque surrounding area and newly reconstructed districts are subjects of interest for all kind of tourists. We can definitely say that, Mtskheta is the place worth visiting all year round , as it is replete with tourists in all the seasons of a year.
